PLANTS TO PAPER MAKING
(local plants - invasive & non-invasive)
We often think that handmade paper can only be made with fiber sourced from cotton or linen . But there is an enormous amount of enthusiastic experimentation going on all over the world to turn all sorts of vegetation, including invasive species, into paper. In this class we compare plant varieties and the steps involved in their assessment and transformation from raw fiber to finished sheets of paper. This is a great way to learn about the basics of papermaking processes and to begin seeing your back yard plants and weeds as a source of cellulose fiber.

FORMS IN LUMINOUS PAPER
